Message of the Vice Chancellor
Pakistan is becoming the hub of the world for international trade, and the role of universities in the changing scenario, because of the CPEC in this region, is crucial. Our higher education system needs to be reformed, so that we can produce leaders to the world. In this regard the academic reforms initiated by our faculty members are remarkable, where time will come that all other universities of the nation will follow these new trends.
I understand that strong commitment requires enormous efforts, and I have full trust on the talent and energy of our young and devote faculty, “they can transform the education system of Pakistan”. I firmly believe that the strict policy of textbooks in classes, orientation of faculty members about teaching and semester system, maintenance of course folders, frequent departmental and university level academic reviews etc makes our faculty distinctive and because of these reforms our students are going through a tough time in studies. This conduce learning environment will ultimately produce a new generation of strong graduates equipped with knowledge, commitment, leadership qualities, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and they will positively change all the institutions of the country and will also lead the CPEC and the world.
I am sure that your efforts and hard work of this year (celebrating as Year of Academics 2017) will be always remembered by the Nation as a turning point in the academics of the higher education system of Pakistan.
God bless you all.
Iftikhar Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor
